The Library is running a series of workshops focussing on researcher development, from 29 September to 29 October. Registration is essential: scroll through<a title=\"Researcher Development Library Workshops Schedule\" href=\"http:\/\/www.massey.ac.nz\/massey\/research\/library\/the-library-for\/the-library-for-staff-and-researchers\/kmir-schedule.cfm\" target=\"_blank\"> the schedule<\/a> and click on the workshops you wish to attend.<\/p>\n<p>The workshops include:<\/p>\n<h3>Module 1: Search<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>analyse your information need to inform your decisions about search tools and strategies<\/li>\n<li>develop search strategies and search appropriate databases effectively<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Module 2: Managing Information<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>organise and manage your literature search results and use them effectively<\/li>\n<li>understand the benefits of referencing software and be aware of software choices and further training<\/li>\n<li>use good file management to keep your research files secure and well-organised<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Module 3: Research Community &amp; Keeping Up-to-Date<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>identify your research community and engage with it effectively<\/li>\n<li>develop your research identity and raise your academic profile<\/li>\n<li>develop a current awareness strategy to stay abreast of new developments and publications in your field<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Module 4: Publishing<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>identify what you need to know about open access, copyright and publishing agreements in order to make good decisions about publication choices<\/li>\n<li>evaluate journals and publishers in order to identify the most appropriate journals and publishers for your research field<\/li>\n<li>write so that your publications are easily discoverable<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Module 5: Publication Impact<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>recognise the importance of monitoring your publication impact for your career and the University<\/li>\n<li>strategically monitor your publication impact to report and inform the University<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Massey researchers, learn how to get and manage information, then maximise and measure your research impact.
