You will have the opportunity to view both the original document and some of the impressive digital images.<\/p>\n<p>The manuscript contains the anonymous glossed version of <em>Le Livre de Boece de Consolacion<\/em>, a French translation of the <em>Consolatio Philosophiae<\/em> of Boethius. Due to its age and value the original is rarely displayed or handled. Professor Glynnis Cropp, who worked with the manuscript for many years and who published in 2006 a critical edition of the <em>Livre de Boece,<\/em> has kindly agreed to talk about the manuscript, its history and its significance to scholarship.<\/p>\n<p>You will also hear from the team at NZMS (New Zealand Micrographic Services Ltd) about the challenges of the digitisation process, which has enabled us to view and share the manuscript in a way that has never been previously possible.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Where: Digital Playspace, Level 2, Massey University Library, Manawat\u016b Campus<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>When: Thursday 2<sup>nd<\/sup> June 2016 4-5pm<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Light refreshments will be served.<\/p>\n<p>Please RSVP by Monday 30<sup>th<\/sup> May to <a href=\"mailto:l.m.andrew@massey.ac.nz\">l.m.andrew@massey.ac.nz<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Please join us as we celebrate the start of our plan to make Massey University\u2019s rare and unique items available digitally for all to use and enjoy.
