This series is part of Massey University\u2019s offering leading up to Open Access Week (22-28 October 2018) #oaweek.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Podcast #1\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A BRIEF HISTORY OF THE SCHOLARLY JOURNAL UNTIL THE 1990S<\/p>\n<p>This podcast begins at the beginning, with a brief overview of the birth of scholarly publishing pre 1900, then covers the early C20th and the post WW2 explosion of scientific endeavour and publishing. Its focus is on Europe although similar activities were occurring around the world.
