Westlaw NZ is the replacement suite of databases for Brookers NZ Legal Databases. Both are available to access at present but that is about to change.<\/p>\n

From Thursday 7th<\/sup> February 2013<\/strong>, Brookers NZ Legal Databases will no longer be available to use.<\/p>\n

There is no loss of content, but there is a a different look.<\/p>\n

If you have links to Brookers NZ Legal databases on your Stream pages, study guides or anywhere else, please remove them and use the Westlaw NZ\u00a0 link instead.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I am arranging a training session at Turitea\u00a0 for as close as possible to the 7th<\/sup> \u2013 I will advertise this when it is confirmed.<\/p>\n

I am also working on a quick guide to using Westlaw NZ \u2013 in the meantime there is a help tab on the Westlaw NZ search page.<\/p>\n

To access Westlaw NZ on campus<\/em><\/strong>, from the Library Homepage, \u00a0you can either choose Article Databases<\/strong>, W<\/strong>, then Westlaw go to this resource<\/strong><\/a> OR<\/p>\n

From the Library Catalogue, type Westlaw NZ<\/strong>, search, go to this resource<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n

Do not enter your Massey Login, but click on the IP Users, click here to log on <\/strong>link.<\/p>\n

Off campus<\/em><\/strong>, you will get a log-in box after you click go to this resource<\/strong> \u2013 use your usual Massey network login and then click IP Users, click here to log on <\/strong>when you reach the Westlaw NZ log-in page.<\/p>\n

Searching<\/strong><\/p>\n

Type keyword\/s or phrase into the main search box to search all content \u2013 refine using the filters at the left side of the screen.<\/p>\n

Or Browse using the drop down menu next to Browse By:<\/strong><\/p>\n

You can also browse by unticking Search All Content Type and ticking the area you want to search \u2013 Cases, Legislation & commentary, journals, Forms & precedents, News & current awareness, government & regulatory materials.<\/p>\n

If you click on one of the areas shown above, you will get access to an Advanced Search (look for that under the Search button).<\/p>\n
