Massey University was first established as an agricultural college in 1927. It was granted full university status in 1964, and holds a unique position amongst New Zealand universities as a major provider of distance learning. Its five colleges – Business, Creative Arts, Health, Humanities and Social Sciences, and Science – teach and maintain centres of research excellence across the university’s three campuses: Palmerston North, Auckland and Wellington.
