They&#8217;ve invested a lot of money in local and central government in a lot of these big infrastructure projects.&#8221;<br><br>&#8220;For M\u0101ori, I think the problem is\u00a0this investment isn&#8217;t in the regions. This investment into construction is an industry that, typically, M\u0101ori are slightly under-represented compared to media or tourism which are really in trouble.&#8221;<br><br>Despite\u00a0there being more rangatahi going into the workforce, Roskruge\u00a0highlighted young M\u0101ori unemployment rates are going up as well.<br><br>&#8220;Our youth unemployment rate is, I think, around 10% and lots of those rangatahi are M\u0101ori\u00a0and Pasifika, so that&#8217;s another part in the mix.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.teaomaori.news\/maori-unemployment-on-rise-amidst-covid-19-lockdown\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Watch the interview on Te Ao &#8211;
