2014 study workshops

The Centres for Teaching and Learning are running study workshops again in 2014.

The workshops cover topics such as academic writing, paragraphing, APA referencing, and postgraduate research. As always, they are free and open to all students.

The StudyUp programme is intended for distance students. Six live sessions are run each week, using Adobe Connect (online conferencing software that you can access through your web browser or a mobile device). See the information page for more: StudyUp.

Postgraduate distance students can attend live online seminars once a week. For the details, and archives of old sessions, see here: Postgraduate seminar series.

Albany campusAlbany

Undergraduate and postgraduate students can attend a wide range of free workshops at Albany campus. Next week’s sessions include “Introduction to Academic Knowledge and Learning” for postgraduates and “Introduction to Academic Writing” for undergraduates.

Manawatu campusManawatu

Students in Manawatu can access the StudyUp sessions and the postgraduate seminars. The postgraduate seminars are held in the Ag Hort 1 lecture theatre on Tuesdays at 1pm.

Postgraduate students can also register for smaller, interactive group sessions. The information is here: postgraduate workshops.

Wellington campusWellington

Wellington CTL organises a wide range of academic skills workshops. These are arranged in consultation with your  lecturers and tutors. The workshops are tailored to the needs of students within specific papers. Students are encouraged to contact their lecturers or tutors to request a workshop.

Students can  also contact the CTL and we will approach academic staff to arrange a workshop for you and your classmates.
