Stop procrastinating! A few tips for getting started with your study.
August 13, 2015
- Get organised. Have a clear plan of what you are going to do in your study time. Make a plan that includes specific tasks (such as read the first half of chapter one or write an essay plan). Breaking tasks down into smaller manageable segments makes it easier to approach your study.
- Do it now. Sometimes the hardest part is getting started. So, do it now! Once you get started you’ll find it easier than you think to keep going.
- Focus on your goal. Think about why you are studying and use that to motivate you.
- The five more rule. When you feel like stopping do five more, e.g. five more minutes of study or five more pages of reading. Adding this little extra when you feel like stopping will help build your study stamina!
