Semester 1 – where to begin?

Today is the first day of the 2013 study year. There’s a lot to read, a lot to plan, and a lot to do! Where do you begin?
Get online
Most papers at Massey have a Stream course. They contain your course material (required reading, assignment instructions, online activities and lectures), so they’re the best place to start. Log into Stream here:
Some papers will not have a Stream course. If there should be a course online and cannot access it, contact Massey University as soon as possible:
Find your lecture times
If you’re an internal student, you can get a copy of your study timetable here:
This will tell you the time and location of your first lectures. These lectures are usually shorter and simpler than normal, but they’re essential viewing.
Create your timetable
Now is the time to put together a plan for your study. Create a week-by-week timetable for your study time, and a semester timetable so that you can plan for assignments, tests, and exams:
Buy textbooks
You can also pick up textbooks for your papers. There’s a discussion among Massey students on Academic Q+A about the best places to find new and used textbooks:
