To reduce this concern there are several ways of ensuring you avoid accidental plagiarism.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Take <a href=\"http:\/\/owll.massey.ac.nz\/study-skills\/note-taking.php\">good notes<\/a>, i.e. clearly indicate where you\u2019ve got the information from by including full reference information and clearly indicate when your notes are quotes and when you\u2019ve paraphrased (such as using quote marks or different colours).<\/li>\n<li>Include in-text citations in assignments even when you <a href=\"http:\/\/owll.massey.ac.nz\/referencing\/quoting-and-paraphrasing.php\">paraphrase<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Include a full reference list of all sources that you\u2019ve used in an assignment.<\/li>\n<li>Check your assignment using <a href=\"http:\/\/www.massey.ac.nz\/massey\/staffroom\/teaching-and-learning\/centre-academic-development-elearning\/professional-development-for-teaching\/teaching--massey\/teaching-resources\/teaching-with-technology\/turnitin\/turnitin_home.cfm\">Turnitin<\/a> before you submit it.
