PhD writing skills workshops: Writing for journals
This popular series of workshops has been specially designed to support the writing development of higher research degree candidates at Massey University. The workshops are presented by learning advisors from the Centre for Learner Success who are experienced in supporting doctoral students through each stage of their writing process. In addition, there is a session facilitated by Massey University’s librarians that covers how to create and structure long documents, as well as tips on using Endnote.
We have a wonderful guest presenter for this workshop, Dr. Eziaku Rasheed – Senior Lecturer in Sustainable Built Environment • School of Built Environment
This workshop takes a closer look at what is involved in writing a journal publication. It covers a range of issues, including:
- Preparation work involved in the journal publication process
- How to choose the ‘right’ journal
- Various article formats (e.g. research, commentary etc.)
- Dealing with reviewer feedback
