Menstrual cycle health and your risk of iron deficiency

Heavy menstrual bleeding is a key risk factor for the diagnosis of iron deficiency in females. Yet no research has looked at:

  1. How many healthy females have heavy menstrual bleeds
  2. What lifestyle factors (e.g. stress or diet) could be affecting or changing our menstrual bleeding.

Knowing how our menstrual bleeding changes with stress or diet could tell us what our risk of being iron deficient is. This is a novel female specific health research project in New Zealand and globally. For more details about what participants will do, please download and read the information sheet below.
