Kupu o te Wiki, or Word of the Week, is brought to you by the Library’s Māori Staff.

The word this week is: menemene (mare-nair-mare-nair) or smile

“Menemene mai whānau (Smile whānau) we want a great photo!”

    This kupu takes me back to high school Kapahaka, when the kaea would call “Menemene mai wahine ma!” (Smile Ladies), it would always make me crack the cheesiest smile!!
