This week we welcomed Riki-Lee Paniora (Ngā Puhi, Te Roroa, Tainui) to Albany Library – our new Māori Information Services Librarian/Kaiwhakarato Pārongo Māori.

Māori students studying at Albany, or studying by distance and living in Auckland, are very welcome to pop in to the library to meet with Riki-Lee.

Her previous role at Auckland Public Libraries included providing information services to public library users, promoting and maintaining a Māori collection, providing a Kohanga Reo reading programme for local tamariki, and establishing outreach services with Mana Whenua.

She has a Bachelor of Arts in Māori Studies and Sociology from the University of Auckland and has started her Postgraduate Diploma in Information Studies through Victoria University.

Haere mai Riki-Lee!
