University Archives Spotlight: World War II

December 9, 2012

The University Archives Spotlight page has a new feature – Massey during World War II.

Massey Agricultural College saw a transformation during the War years, as an Army Staff Training College was established on the campus in 1941. Pre-fabricated wooden huts were erected on the Oval and an Army Staff Officers’ Hostel was built adjacent to the Refectory to quarter Army officers – this hostel would later became known as McHardy Hall.
