Are the Library links in your Stream course up to date?

February 17, 2014

Staff members, are your Library links up to date in Stream? When papers are rolled over, old Library content is often included, leading to frustration for students trying to use resources that no longer work properly. If you have not already been in contact with a Librarian this year to update the Library content, then please take a minute to check your Stream paper…

Library Block

  • If you have a default Library block in Stream (i.e. with no content tailored to your specific course), the latest version should look like this, with ‘version 2.1’ at the bottom:

blockv2.1

  • It is very easy to replace an old Library block with the current one:
    • Turn on editing
    • Delete the old Library block
    • Go to the dropdown box to add a new block, select Massey Library
    • Re-position the new block to where you want it
  • If you have a tailored block (with references to specific books, subject guides, etc) that you think may be out of date, please contact your Subject Librarian.

Other Library Content in Stream

  • Do you have Library content in the central panel of Stream that you think may be out of date? Clues would be:
    • no mention of Discover, our main search tool
    • references to the old Encore or Classic catalogues
    • broken links to Library web pages or specific resources, such as journal articles, books or chapters
  • If you do identify out of date content, please delete it, update it yourself, or contact your Subject Librarian.
