2013 Census products and services review
We are currently assessing the effectiveness of the products and services from the 2013 Census of Population and Dwellings.
We’d like to hear from you about how you used the products and services to help us assess the topic areas covered, and the accessibility and timing of the products. As key users of our data, your feedback will help us evaluate the success of the census products and services. Your comments will also be considered in planning and developing future products and services.
We are also seeking feedback on the geographies used for publishing census data, to help determine the optimal statistical geographies needed for producing data.
We’re asking for this feedback via an online questionnaire, which will be available on our website from Thursday 17 September to Wednesday 30 September 2015.

The closure of the 2013 Census output programme
The 2013 Census output programme has officially come to an end, with the release of the following products:
• 2013 Census QuickStats about people aged 65 and over was released on 30 June 2015. This release provides more information about people aged 65 years and over, and includes commentary, graphs, and Excel tables.

• Living outside the norm: An analysis of people living in temporary and communal dwellings is a report on non-private dwellings, which was released on 7 July. This was the first time we have released a report about people living in these non-standard dwelling types.
• On 14 July we released the first two modules of A century of censuses: Long-term trends from the Census of Population and Dwellings to 2013. We’ll add more topics in the lead-up to the 2018 Census.
• 2013 Census cigarette smoking tables were the final set of NZ.Stat tables to be produced. These tables give detailed breakdowns on the topic of cigarette smoking.
The 2013 Census output programme has produced many publications over the past few years. We released 42 products, including 12 QuickStats; 112 iwi profiles; 143 ethnic profiles; 9 infographics; and 224 NZ.Stat tables – with a whopping 7,500,000+ cells in the largest NZ.Stat table. As of 1 April 2015, our census products had had nearly half a million web hits.
