Library video guides UX

December 5, 2023

The results are in from the user experience (UX) of our video guides held on all three Massey campuses.

The purpose of the UX was to find out if the 10 Library video guides on our website are fit for purpose. We interviewed 15 students across all three campuses.

Results identified a key issue – students are largely unaware of the video guides. However, when presented with the list of topics covered by the video guides, students said they sounded useful and they would use them.

Other themes to emerge from the UX research are:  students felt they would most likely access the Library video guides through Stream; the format for video guides should be brief (under 5 minutes); and it should be easy to find the answer quickly.

Other suggested topics for video guides included how to reference and an introduction to the Library.

We would like to thank our participants for their willingness to help.
