New New Zealand digital Information: Votes & Proceedings and newspapers

August 24, 2012

The National Library of New Zealand has added new  digital content  to New Zealand digital collections, A-Js Online and Papers Past.

First, they have  added the three volumes of the Votes and Proceedings of the House of Representatives (1854, 1855 and 1856) to AtoJs Online.

Secondly,  the Clerk of the House has provided a statement for AtoJs Online emphasising the importance of access to these documents, clarifying the status of the digitised versions relative to the originals, and expressing her support. You can read it here: http://atojs.natlib.govt.nz/cgi-bin/atojs?a=p&p=about

And thirdly there were several additions to Papers Past this week as well. The three new titles are the Dominion (1907-1920), the Te Puke Times (1913-1920), and the Thames Advertiser (1874-1899). They have also extended the Free Lance (1910-1920), and filled in six more years of the Christchurch Press (1915-1920).
